NSW Premier’s Department Secretary visits Bourke to meet with Maranguka and the Bourke Tribal Council

On Thursday 23 October the Maranguka team welcomed Mr. Simon Draper, Secretary of the NSW Premier’s Department, to Bourke, along with Gerry Collins and Sophie Murray-Farrell, also from the Premier’s Department.

The visit provided an opportunity for Maranguka staff to discuss the key challenges currently facing Bourke and to share how Maranguka continues to work together with the community and local service partners to create meaningful, lasting change for families and children.

As part of the visit, Mr. Draper toured the Men’s Space on Meek Street to see the new shed — a project proudly supported by Maranguka and CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes.

Mr. Draper also met with members of the Bourke Tribal Council to hear directly from local leaders about their work in driving community-led solutions for Bourke.
